About Utawarerumono

To quickly summarize, Utawarerumono is a story about a man who wakes up in an village without memory of who he is. Thankful to the people taking care of him, he decides to help them. Due to a particularly cruel landlord, he leads the people of the village to an uprising, which ends up spreading to the rest of the world.

The game itself is an S-RPG (Strategy Role Playing Game) hentai game, meaning that the game is pornographic to some extent, mostly occuring in the latter 1/3 of the game. Comparitively, the game is considered to be epic in length, with the hentai at almost a bare minimum for successful completion of missions later in the game.

A cool little flash movie with pictures and music was made with a nice little intro. The movie can be found here. This is the text from the flash movie:

He awakens in a small nation in the northeastern oustkirts of the continent.

It seems that Eruruw had dfound where he had collapsed from his terrible wounds and saved his life.

However, even though his life was saved, he had forgotten all his past memories. Not ever able to remember his own name, he was given a new one, "Hakuor."

Hakuor recovered slowly through the tender care of Eruruw and her friends and decides to do whatever he can to help them after seeing the village steeped in poverty.

He passes the time easily, doing such things as tilling the fields and cementing his bonds with the villagers all the while recovering from his wounds.

And thus, with Hakuor's wounds mostly healed, the harvest season the villagers were long expecting has arrived.

Along with it comes the fruits of their cooperation and hard labor, as theri harvest was the grandest they've ever had.

However, the feudal lord who heard the rumors found fault with them and confistcated their precious food by levying a tax on them.

Due to the tax compounded with various other factors, Hakuor and the villagers could not hold back and longer and started on their path to rebellion.
